Spring in Hood River

Hood River has so many wonderful things to offer, but in the spring the Hood River Valley undergoes its spring transformation. Blossom fest, cider fest and more great events highlight the beauty and bounty of the valley. http://hoodriver.org/cider-fest/

Spring is also the time that Doug’s goes through its seasonal transformation. As we quietly put the snow season to bed, we welcome the swim and skate season. Every day we are receiving in colorful spring apparel to get you out of the winter gloom. The basement is also turning and welcoming the new skate equipment. The latest skate shoes from Doug’s new comer Converse! And packs from our local favorite, Dakine.

A quick cure for you fear of heights…

This summer we are going to highlight fun things to do and see in the Columbia Gorge. Today our web/team manager Nikki went ZipLining at Skamania Lodge. It is just a short 25 min drive form Hood River. I HIGHLY recommend doing this if you are in the area. Our guides Tiana and Anthony were full of energy and extremely helpful if you need a little coaxing to take that first step off the platform. You zipline off 7 towers and sail thru the scenic canopy, with peaking views of the Columbia River and the golf course. Afterwards you can calm your nerves at lunch at the lodge.
